Insight will be attending this year’s Sustainable Places conference, providing coverage on the latest developments in the field of sustainable built environments and supporting our partner project Sim4Blocks host their workshop on demand response.
Sustainable Places 2019 will take place in Cagliari on the island of Sardinia between 5-7 June, bringing together experts and other stakeholders working towards the common goal of creating a more sustainable built environment to help mitigate climate change and energy use.
Renowned for showcasing results coming out of the EU Horizon 2020 Framework Programme via the participation of cutting-edge research and innovation projects, the scope of Sustainable Places is captured directly in the name. It involves designing, building and retrofitting the places we live and work in a more sustainable way.
For the first year, Insight is supporting Sim4Blocks in running a 90 minute long workshop to facilitate discussions concerning the uptake of demand response in Europe and the market barriers that remain. Technological, regulatory, economic and environmental factors will frame the debate and will be underpinned by the newest research results from the participating researchers.
Three leading European projects in the field of energy and demand response will help moderate and lead discussions in this workshop: DR.BOB, NOVICE and HOLISDER. The workshop will be taking place on Friday 7 June at 9am.
Sustainable Places prides itself on being an ideal platform for disseminating research, conducting workshops, EU project clustering and networking between stakeholders of all types. SP2019 will be held over three days allowing morning travel on the first day and afternoon travel on the third day. Between opening and closing keynote sessions, parallel technical sessions and project-organised workshops are held on conference topic areas. The venue is available all week (free of charge) for project meetings and side events.
