The Active and Assisted Living (AAL) programme holds one of the largest annual forums in the field of technology for ageing, and Insight has been working closely with AAL on this since the partnership began nine years ago. Over the years we’ve seen both this collaboration and the programme blossom twofold.
The AAL Forum take places once a year in one of the programmes partner countries. This year it is being held in the city of Aarhus, Denmark where local actors, regions, the EC and health and social care providers will meet and engage with SMEs and industry in discussions to drive the future of the digital transformation of health and social inclusion for our ageing population.
Delegates, speakers and participants of the forum can expect to actively get involved in networking and discussing key issues addressing the challenges facing our ageing population during workshops, keynote presentations, plenary sessions and a large exhibition area.
The partnership between AAL and Insight began in Lecce, Italy in 2011, the third AAL Forum. Every year since, Insight has been the media partner for the event, helping both the image and the direction of it develop into the key European player it is today. Our work has spanned curating and producing the printed programme, managing the content on the website, covering the forum in order to produce live coverage and the executive summary.
Not only have we seen it grow and expand in terms of both its popularity and in driving the healthy ageing agenda, but we’ve followed some amazing products and ideas along the way that help older people stay more socially active to providing support to those with dementia. We have met and remained friends with some brilliant minds pushing innovations and making a real difference in people’s lives.
We expect this year in Aarhus to be no different. Our work with The City of Aarhus is well underway, speaking with keynotes, disseminating the workshops and exhibitors and planning the printed programme. As always, we very much look forward to seeing what this year has to offer.
